In Maltese tradition, children often get a cookie type cake called a figolli. This is basically two slabs of a cookie base with an crushed almond, rosewater egg white mix sandwiched in the middle. Then royal icing is used to decorate cute easter symbols or other symbols of fertility.
My tradition goes as far as enjoying time making them with my aunt and having her indulge me in my creativity. Thus once all the kids figolla are done, then I get to make what ever I want. Thus Zombie Jesus Easter Figolli... |
